Pager Help & Tips

What a little more information about your pager?
Here is some common information regarding paging devices.
If you do have any other questions feel free to contact us.

HT Communications - Your Wireless Cellular Phone and Communications Specialist.
We recommend that you test page
Your pager at least weekly to make sure everything is functioning properly.

If you miss pages
More than likely it is a pager problem, at which point bring it in for service.

Phones & their accessories are not drop-proof nor are they liquid or waterproof
You have a warranty on your phone but it is void if it's been physically abused (any cosmetic damage such as cracks or chips) or liquid damage. All liquid damage repairs are $15 even if the item is not fixable.

If you do get your pager wet
Immediately take the battery out, leave it out for a few hours & reinstall a battery, if you need immediate service bring it in.

Pagers are not drop proof
This voids the warranty & is not covered by maintenance.

When the battery gets low
Immediately replace it, 80% of the pager problems are just very low batteries. They will cause missed pages & also intermittent power. We recommend sticking to a good brand battery as the majority of bad batteries are always a cheap brand.

Pager Voicemail Instructions
Begin by dialing your pager from a touchtone phone.
During the greeting press the 0 key (or the * key or the # key).
Enter in your passcode (first time users- your passcode may be the last 4 digits your pager phone number, or it may be the last 4 digits of your capcode- see your
pager receipt- also may be located on back of pager).

You are now in the mailbox…You should get a confirmation saying how many
new messages you have (if you have any). Then follow the commands below.

Messaging commands:
to Play messages (newest to oldest) press 3
to Play messages (oldest to newest) press 4
to Re-Play (the last message heard) press 5
to play all messages press 6
to play Time & Date stamp (of last heard message) press 7
to Delete messages (the last message heard) press 2

Numeric Retrieval is where you can hear the numbers that have been paged to you. It's a great way to keep in touch if your pager is unavailable, lost, broken, out of area, etc. Press 14 then follow the Play Messages commands above.

Change the greeting, It's great for a confirmation that the caller can tell they didn't misdial, It can also be very professional, or fun, or informative. Say whatever you like! Press 11, then 30 to begin recording, 1 to stop, 40 to play back. If you made a mistake; press 30 to begin again, 1 to stop, 40 to play back. Repeat if necessary.

Changing the passcode, We totally recommend it so you have privacy. Also so you remember! If you can't think of a 4 digit number- use the last 4 of your SSN. It is private & it should be easy to remember. Press 17, then 3 then the new code, then #. Listen for the confirmation, if it is not the number you wanted, press 3, then the new code, then the # sign.

   * key is for help. When you are changing the greeting or passcode, or if you are in Numeric Retrieval & you want to return to the Voice Messaging, press 10.
